Wallace
State Future Foundation Scholarships-Additional
scholarships are available at Wallace State
Community College. The application is different
from the original application. See Mrs. Archer
for these applications.
Here are the application deadlines:
For Fall semester enrollment-August 1st
Spring semester-December 1st

Cullman
Regional Nursing Scholarship-Students interested
in a career in nursing are encouraged to apply.
For complete eligibility requirements,
stipulations, and an application, see Mrs.
Archer. A deadline was not on the application,
however, interested students should apply ASAP.
ATTENTION
SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS
NROTC Scholarship Program (Naval Reserve
Officers Training Corps)-In order to be
eligible, you must be accepted to a four-year
college or university, have an ACT score of at
least 22 in math and a 22 in English, and be
able to pass the Navy physical. These
scholarships may provide tuition, fees, and
living expenses and Navy officer status while in
school. For more information, see Mrs. Archer
ASAP. Students must plan well ahead of their
senior year in order to be eligible for ROTC
scholarships.
*Other military branches also offer ROTC
scholarships. Ex. Army and Air Force. Those
branches may have different eligibility
requirements. YOU MUST PLAN AHEAD IF YOU PLAN TO
APPLY!
West Point Military Academy-West Point prepares
cadets to become officers in the United States
Army. West Point is very selective and students
must meet specific guidelines. Following
graduation from West Point, students must serve
at least five years of active duty and three
years in a Reserve Component. The active duty
obligation is the Nation's return on a West
Point graduate's fully funded, four-year college
education that is valued at $150,000.
The admissions process begins in the winter of a
high school student's junior year. **YOU MUST

Next Step
Scholarships-Next Step magazine is offering up
to $20,000 in tuition for students who enter at
www.nextStepmag.com/winfreetuition.
The University of
Alabama at Birmingham Scholarship deadline is
November 1st, 2007 however, students should
apply ASAP as funds may become available on a
first-come, first-serve basis. For application
information, visit www.uab.edu.
Seniors Helping
Seniors Scholarship Program-PNY challenges high
school seniors to conceive and perform a project
that will enhance the lives and meet the needs
of senior citizens within their community using
computer technology. For complete information,

JANUARY:
Sam Walton Community Scholarship-The Wal-Mart
scholarship is available through
www.walmartfoundation.org. This scholarship is a
non-renewable $1,000 award for the first year of
undergraduate study at an approved accredited
college or university.

Auburn University Freshman Chemical Engineering
Scholarship-This scholarship is awarded to
entering freshman enrolled in the pre-chemical
engineering curriculum on a merit basis. For an

McKelvey
Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarship-In order
to qualify, you must own your own business for
at least one year, have at least one paid
employee, graduate high school in 2008 and go to
any 4-year college or university within the 50
states. To apply, visit

entrepreneurial scholarship section.

Cappex
Scholarships-Cappex.com is a website that tells
you which colleges want you before you apply.
They are awarding $25,000 in scholarships to
eligible students. For more information, log on

FEBRUARY:
**Best Buy
Scholarship-Best Buy scholarships reward
students for all of their work; inside and
outside of the classroom. High school seniors
are eligible to apply. Visit

Alabama
Automotive Manufacturers Association
Scholarship-Students interested in pursuing a
career in the automotive industry should apply.

Bevill State
Community College Scholarships-A variety of
scholarships are available to student interested
in pursuing degrees in academic or technical
programs. For a complete list of scholarships

February 29, 2008.
Wallace State Honors Program-If accepted into
the Honors Program at Wallace State, students
receive a full tuition and fees scholarship and
are also awarded a $200 book stipend per year.
In order to be considered, students must
complete an admission packet to Wallace State
including the honors program application, have
an ACT score of 22 or higher, and a high school
GPA of at least 3.5. Students must also have a
minimum of 20 hours of community or school
service during the past year. For more

Burger King
Scholars Program-Seniors who meet the following
criteria may apply: Maintain a cumulative GPA of
2.5 or higher, work part-time an average of 15
hours per week, 40 weeks per year, actively
involved in community service activities,
demonstrate financial need, plan to enroll in an
accredited two or four year college, university,
or technical school by Fall of the application

Jimmy Rane Foundation Scholarship-Available to
graduating high school seniors from the south
who would not be able to attend college without
financial assistance. Selection is based on
academics and school/community involvement.

Co-Op Scholarship Program-In order to qualify,
you must have a high school GPA of 3.5 or
better, complete the National Co-Op Scholarship
Program application including a typed one-page
essay describing why you have chosen to pursue a

MARCH:
Baptist Foundation of Alabama Scholarship is
available to Alabama residents who are members
in good standing of a Baptist church cooperating
with the Alabama Baptist State Convention. Visit

Electric Scholarship-One graduating senior from
Meek High School will receive a $1,000

cooperative district in Alabama awards either 2
$500 scholarship or 1 $1,000 scholarship. See

Scholarship-The Walker County Homebuilders
offers scholarships to students who are
interested in pursuing careers related to the

Endowed Scholarships)-Priority for this

and who have ties to Marion or Winston Counties.
