**Please
note when students will take the graduation exam.
Every student does not take the graduation exam
each time it is administered. For questions, call
or see Mrs. Archer.
Information
regarding when students may take the Alabama High
School Graduation Exam (AHSGE):
Pre-graduation
exam (Tenth Grade): Students will have one
opportunity to take the graduation exam their
tenth-grade year.
Reading, language, and social studies will be
administered in the spring to all tenth graders.
Tenth grade students who have successfully
completed Algebra I (not Algebra 1A) during their
ninth grade year will take the math portion of the
AHSGE in the fall of their tenth grade year.
Students who take Algebra 1A during the 9th
grade and then take Algebra 1B during the tenth
grade will take the math portion in the spring of
the tenth grade. Tenth grade students who have
successfully completed Biology during their ninth
grade year will also take the science portion of the
AHSGE in the fall of their tenth grade year.
Graduation
Exam (Eleventh Grade): Students will have one
opportunity to take the graduation exam during the
spring of their junior year.
Graduation
Exam (Twelfth Grade): Students will have four
opportunities to pass the graduation exam during
their senior year: summer, fall, winter, and spring
**The
only exception to the above guidelines is if a
student transfers into our school and has not yet
taken the graduation exam or if a student is absent
and misses one of their opportunities.
These students will take the exam on the
following administration of the graduation exam.
