Spanish Club
2006-2007 Sponsor--Senora Murrah
The purpose of the Meek High School Spanish Club is to increase interest
in and awareness of Hispanic culture and encourage use of the Spanish
language. Students who are currently taking Spanish I or Spanish II are
welcome to join. Native speakers are also welcome to join. Membership
fees are $3.00.
In December, students will have a fiesta at a Mexican
restaurant.
The Spanish Club will also participate in the Alabama Association of High
School Spanish Clubs State Convention held at the University of Alabama in
April 2007. Students will compete in a variety of competitions (grammar,
quiz bowl, sight reading, skit, costume, etc.). The
competition's focus
countries for 2007 are Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Chile.
