News & Notes
CHANGES IN DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP LOCATION OF STUDENTS:
Beginning Monday, May 5, the new construction of six new
classrooms will begin. This construction will be on the side nearest
Traders and Farmers Bank. It will connect to the main building as
well as the two buildings near the playground that house our
kindergarten, and some of our first and second grades.
We will be relocating the loading and unloading of buses as well as the dropping off and picking up of students. Please observe all signs, as there will be many new ones, and the list of changes below. Our teachers and I will be carefully directing students and anyone who needs help. Please work with us to make this transition as smooth as possible.
Buses will load students in front of the elementary building
stretching from the sixth grade end to the gym. This will mean we
must ask you not to park there between 2:00p.m and 3:00p.m.
· Buses will unload on the canopy side, between the elementary and
the gym nearest the road. We must ask you not to park in front of
the school between 7:00a.m. and 8:00a.m. Students will walk under
the canopy and into the door closest to the lunchroom. Teachers will
monitor this activity.
· Parents/Guardians may drop off students in the mornings at the
door closest to the lunchroom near the Home Ec. Buildings (where
buses previously unloaded), at the door of the snack room in the
gym, or where the buses are unloading.
· Parents/Guardians may pick up students in the afternoons as
follows:
-Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third Graders
will be picked up behind the school near the white kindergarten
building. Teachers will be monitoring the students. Please work with
us. It will be tight coming in and turning around until construction
is complete. It will probably be better if you park near the Home
Ec. Building by the lunchroom and walk to the back of the building
until we see how heavy the traffic flow will be.
-Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Graders may be picked up
at the door closest to the lunchroom on the Home Ec. Side of the
gym. Teachers will be monitoring the students.
Please be patient and understanding. We may need to change some
things until they work well. We will be adding fencing near the
roadway and may need to add additional signs to help direct everyone
as we see how these plans work. It will be a bit frustrating for a
while but being able to have six new classrooms to get all of our
students into quality facilities and make our school safer will be
well worth it.
Thank you for always working with us to care for and educate your
children. There is no better community of which to belong.
