"Today, more than ever, the value of school nurses is
recognized. More students have chronic health problems and require safe management at school. Management is needed for students who have asthma, diabetes, severe allergies as well as for students with other chronic and acute health problems. And every child benefits from wellness activities which help children learn better. As a school nurse, every day you impact the lives of children, supporting their health so they can be successful in school and ultimately in their lives."
"You do a very complex job. You take care of many, many children, you are responsible for managing a very wide variety of health problems, and you do all this in an educational context, rather than in the health care setting. This makes school nursing a very challenging nursing specialty."
