Fame and Pawz for Music.
On Saturday, May 10th, 2008 many students from Double Springs Elementary
attended the two and 1/2 hour workshop with specific training in the art of
harmonic playing. We are very proud of our students and parents who support the
arts and the expansion of music education. Pawz for music introduces children to
the world of jazz, blues, soul and southern rock music that shaped the
foundation of music today.
Pawz for Music is a non-profit organization that was established to inspire
children into the world of music and expand the scope of music education.
In attendance: Sam Shaddix, Andrew Shaddix, Bryant Lynn, Stormie Bell, Kyla
Champion, Madison Jernigan, Gavin Colburn, Chandler Sawyer, Britney Windom, all
from DSES. Caleb Shaddix from DSMS.


Mrs. Stephanie Nix, Fourth Grade Teacher at Double Springs Elementary,
was awarded the Golden Apple Award by ABC 33/40 and FoodWorld. ABC 33/40 will
show the award on television Friday, April 25 during the Midday News and again
on Monday's Good Morning Alabama during the 6:30 to 7:00 AM half hour.
Mrs. Nix is now eligible to be chosen as the Golden Apple Award Teacher of the
Year. Congratulations!
If parents need to visit with a teacher, the planning period might be good time
to have an uninterrupted conversation.
Kindergarten teachers time is 11:45-12:25.
First Grade teachers time is 12:30-1:10.
Second Grade teachers time is 10:15-10:55.
Third Grade teachers time is 9:30-10:10.
Fourth Grader teachers time is 8:45-9:25.
The following fourth grade students at Double Springs Elementary School have
been selected to pursue school credit while building leadership skills during a
People to People World Leadership Forum.
